Former Huntington star Mayo ‘dismissed, disqualified’ from NBA

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Former Huntington High School basketball star O.J. Mayo on Friday was ‘dismissed and disqualified’ from the NBA for violating the league’s anti-drug program.

Mayo can apply for reinstatement in two years. He previously served a 10-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs in 2011.

Mayo, a free agent, has played the last three seasons of his career with the Bucks. He was drafted by Memphis in 2008 overall No. 3 after spending one year at USC.
