Unidentified body found in Buckhannon River in Upshur County

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Upshur County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the discovery of body in the Buckhannon River Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say kayakers discovered an unidentified man floating in the river near the Buckhannon-Tennerton city line.

The body was described as a white man with short brown hair, wearing a gray t-shirt, orange shorts, and tennis shoes with a tattoo on his chest of the letters “M O B” or “M O K”.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Upshur County 911’s non emergency line at 304- 472-9550.
