Capito says Nice attack cause for more concern

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — U.S. Senator Shelly Moore Capito says the terror attack in France that left 84 people dead Thursday is a tragedy.

Capito told MetroNews affiliate WEPM in Martinsburg that the use of a truck, plane or homemade bomb to cause destruction creates a scary scenario for the intelligence community because of the difficulty in tracking down suspects.

Finding a way to prevent such attacks is difficult, Capito said.

“I’m mystified. I don’t have an answer for that. I don’t know how you stop this.”

Gathering information on individuals through the Internet and surveillance is important, but the real problem must be dealt with at the root through action against groups such as ISIS, Capito said.

“I think we are working on that,” she said.
