Baltimore defensive lineman Marcus Coleman commits to WVU

Marcus Coleman, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound defensive lineman from Baltimore, committed to West Virginia on Sunday.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia added a commitment Sunday from Marcus Coleman, a defensive lineman from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Coleman also holds offers from Virginia, North Carolina, N.C. State, Syracuse, Marshall and James Madison.

West Virginia quickly became a contender after Coleman camped in Morgantown in late June.

“I really like his versatility and quickness off the ball,” said Kevin Kinder of BlueGoldNews.com. “He beats a lot of blocks right off the snap because (offensive linemen) can’t get an angle.”

Coleman became WVU’s 10th commitment overall for 2017 and the first defensive lineman, a unit that remains one of need.
