Man charged in Morgan County domestic battery case

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — A Morgan County man is facing charges of domestic battery and obstruction after allegedly beating his wife.

State police arrested Robert Linton, 45, of Berkeley Springs, Monday at his home on Packing House Road after responding to a complaint there. Family members told police Linton had battered Michelle Linton and had a firearm inside the home.

According to the criminal complaint, Linton refused to speak with the trooper when he arrived at the residence. Linton continued to resist when being detained and was pepper sprayed by the trooper.

The case remains under investigation.
