Mineral County man convicted of first degree murder in Maryland court

CUMBERLAND, Md. — A West Virginia man was found guilty Tuesday in a Maryland court for stabbing a man to death.

Jason Wilt, 32, of Keyser, was convicted in Allegheny County Circuit Court of first degree murder in connection to the death of Rhyson Smith.

Police say Wilk and his girlfriend Erika Dersin allegedly conspired to rob Smith.

Smith’s body was found along on Route 51 near Uhl Highway.

Wilt will be sentenced August 17. Dersin will stand trial that day.
