New general manager appointed at Mountaineer Casino

CHESTER, W.Va. — Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort in Hancock County has a new general manger.

Gregg Carano, the executive vice president of Food and Beverage for Eldorado Resorts, was appointed to the job by Eldorado on Tuesday.

Carano previously served as the general manager of Circus Circus Reno and general manager of Eldorado Resort Casino Reno. He has over 30 years of experience in gaming and hospitality, according to a news release.

“The appointment of Gregg to the role of General Manager will help solidify Mountaineer Casino & Resort’s position as a top attraction in the region,” said Gary Carano, CEO of Eldorado Resorts in the release. “Gregg embodies the heart and soul of the Eldorado Resorts culture – leading by example, respecting our team members and creating memorable guest experiences.”

Carano graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and currently holds a BA in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Florida International University. He was named Restaurateur of the Year by the Nevada Restaurant Association and the Nevada Hotel Motel Association.
