Woman killed in Hampshire County crash

SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. — A Mineral County woman died in a car crash Wednesday evening in Hampshire County, state police said.

Holly Bailey, 26, of Ridgeley, was heading north on state Route 28 near Springfield at around 6 p.m. when her vehicle traveled across the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle head-on, troopers said.

Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, Virginia Digruttolo, 39, was flown by helicopter to a Winchester, Va., hospital. Two passengers in her car were injured and transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, according to troopers.
