Saints join flood recovery efforts in Greenbrier County

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Members of the New Orleans Saints got a good workout Wednesday before hitting the field Thursday for their third consecutive training camp at The Greenbrier.

The players moved bleachers, put down mulch, repaired a pavilion, painted playground equipment and did other work at Memorial Park in White Sulphur Springs as part of flood recovery efforts.

White Sulphur Springs was one of the hardest hit areas in the June 23 flood. Twenty-three people died in the historic flood, 15 of those in Greenbrier County.

The Saints joined with employees of Lowe’s and other volunteers to spruce up the park in downtown White Sulphur Springs that was covered by a raging Howard’s Creek.
