WAYNE, W.Va. — There was an unusual driver behind the wheel of a car in the Walmart parking lot in Wayne Friday evening.

A small dog knocked the running car out of gear and it drifted through the parking lot before hitting the building, Wayne County deputies said.

The car’s owner had left her dogs in the car with the engine running and the air conditioner on.

The second dog, sitting in the passenger’s seat, was able to roll down the window, eyewitnesses said.

Neither the car nor the building sustained much damage. The dogs were not injured.
