Motorcyclist killed in Monongalia County accident

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Deputies with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a fatal Friday night crash.

Robert Mayfield, 48 of Gypsy, was traveling south on Route 19 (Fairmont Road) on a 2006 Harley Davidson when his bike was struck by a 1989 Chevy 3500 pickup driven by Tristian Tennant, 16 of Blacksville.

The accident happened at about 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 19 and Little Indian Creek Road.

Mayfield was pronounced dead at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Monongalia County EMS, Marion County EMS, Westover Volunteer Fire Department and Star City Police also responded to the crash.
