Milton man faces up to 195-year prison sentence on litany of sex charges

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A Milton man accused of recording sexual acts involving a 7-year-old child entered a Kennedy plea Monday to eight of the 48 charges against him.

Daniel Lovejoy, 31, entered the plea on one count of distribution and exhibition of child pornography, one count of use of minors in filming explicit conduct, two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, two counts of incest, one count of sexual assault involving a child under the age of 14, and one count of conspiracy to commit incest during a hearing in Cabell County Circuit Court.

Forty-one other counts listed in a January indictment, which also included his wife Nicole, were dismissed.

Daniel Lovejoy faces a prison sentence of 56 to 195 years. He’s due back in court Sept. 19.

A trial date for 29-year-old Nicole Lovejoy is set for October, but prosecutors have also offered her a plea deal.

The couple was arrested in Nov. 2015 after a several month-long investigation by WV State Police found more than a dozen files shared online showing what appeared to be adults engaging in sexually explicit conduct with young children.
