Pick-up truck hauling gasoline explodes in downtown Princeton

PRINCETON, W.Va. — A pick-up truck hauling containers of gasoline exploded in downtown Princeton Tuesday, but the driver and an occupant were able to safely escape the fire.

Authorities say the pick-up truck was hauling containers of gasoline in the back when either fumes or drops of gasoline, got into the exhaust area of the pick-up truck, igniting the vehicle and causing an explosion.

The truck was destroyed but its two occupants, a father and son, escaped the vehicle without injury.
