WARNER ROBINS, GA. — West Virginia’s representative to the Little League World Series was officially eliminated from the Southeast regional tournament Tuesday afternoon.
Playing in the consolation bracket, the all-stars from Peachtree, Georgia never trailed. An eight run explosion in the 3rd inning proved decisive in eliminating Bridgeport.
J.T. Muller went 2 for 3 with a home run in the loss.
Bridgeport advanced all the way to the semifinals on the heels of a seven game winning streak between the state tournament and the regional tournament, but lost their second in a row to end their quest to become the first West Virginia representative in the Little League World Series since 1951.
The Georgia squad will now face Goodlettsville, Tennesse in the Southeast regional finals.
