Logan County woman charged in fatal hit-and-run Monday night

HOLDEN, W.Va. — A Logan County woman was charged Thursday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident Monday night.

Ashton Dowdy, 20 confessed to the crime Wednesday night and was arrested Thursday morning, police said. She was charged with leaving the scene causing death.

Harry Bass was hit about 10 p.m. Monday near the old Save-A-Lot grocery store in Holden, and died from his injuries on Thursday morning.

Bass was taken to the hospital Monday night after the incident happened and was in stable condition.
