Child killed in Mason County house fire

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a Sunday morning fire in Mason County that killed a child.

The house was full of flames when firefighters arrived on the scene at around 2 a.m. A child could not get out of the house. Another person was injured. A firefighter was treated and released from the hospital in connection with the blaze.

An assistant state fire marshal was on the scene Sunday.
