Police investigate fatal Boone County crash involving DOH mower

DANVILLE, W.Va. — One person was killed in a Friday morning wreck on U.S. Route 119 in Boone County.

The crash occurred southbound near the Danville exit at around 6:30 a.m. when a passenger vehicle hit a state Division of Highways mower. The man in the vehicle was killed, the DOH worker was taken to the hospital. His injuries aren’t believed to be serious.

The southbound lanes were closed for just more than three hours.

Danville police are in charge of the investigation.
