WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Democratic gubernatorial nominee and Greenbrier Resort owner Jim Justice has turned over the operation to his daughter Dr. Jill Justice.
The announcement was made Thursday during the West Virginia Business Summit at the resort.
Dr. Justice began her duties as the resort president earlier this summer. In a news release, she said, “I’m beyond excited to have the opportunity to lead this wonderful resort and follow in the footsteps of so many great leaders who have made America’s Resort the best in the world.”
“The saying that there is only one Greenbrier is absolutely true,” she continued. “I look forward to embracing the history of this American institution while helping it reach new heights in the future.”
The release said Dr. Justice brings an “intense love for The Greenbrier” and its nearly 2,000 members since her father purchased the resort in 2009.
Dr. Justice was an athlete at Greenbrier East High School, earning all-state honors in both volleyball and basketball. She went on to play basketball at Clemson University then transferred to Marshall University where she completed her basketball career and undergraduate degree in 2007. Justice got her Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 2012 at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has served as a physician at Greenbrier Care located at the resort.
“I’m so proud of Jill and all she’s accomplished,” said Jim Justice in a statement. “I have watched Jill all the way. She’s smart. She loves Greenbrier County, and she loves The Greenbrier.”
“Jill played a big role in getting The Greenbrier reopened after the devastating floods in June,” he said. “I have real confidence in Jill, and I’m as excited as I can possibly be.”
Dr. Justice and her husband Adam Long currently reside in Greenbrier County.
