Huntington couple charged with first-degree murder in connection to 3-year-old boy’s death

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A Huntington couple faces first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of the women’s three-year-old son.

Mariya Ajena Jones, 22, and Aaron Brendon Miles, 31, were charged in Cabell County Circuit Court on Friday.

The pair allegedly beat the child and failed to seek proper medical assistance. The boy’s body was found July 12 at his home.

Jones and Miles, the boy’s stepfather, are being held on $1 million bond at the Western Regional Jail. The pair also faces multiple other counts, including child abuse and neglect.
