The Friday Lunch: Crucial weekend for Big 12 powers

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Gold & Blue Lunch Report thinks the bye week arrived too early, and there’s another one right around the bend. But scheduling is hard, which is why it’s handled three decades in advance.

West Virginia (2-0) gets to watch, rest and sharpen up while BYU (1-1) wrestles with UCLA. (Someone on the MetroNews panel took the Cougars as Saturday’s stone-cold lock, but the panels “locks” are 3-8-1 so far.)

Check out the video for all the picks, while taking account of last week’s projections:

This week’s national marquee game rests within the Big 12 footprint. Will Oklahoma knock off Ohio State to re-emerge as a CFP contender, or will the sky start falling in Norman?

Plus there’s Texas-Cal and Oklahoma State-Pitt, both of which carry rooting interests for Mountaineers fans.
