Former Glenville State volleyball player killed in car crash Monday

GLENVILLE, W.Va. — A Glenville State student-athlete passed away Monday afternoon as a result of a vehicle accident on Route 5 West in Gilmer County.

Dejana Ludoski played volleyball for Glenville State in 2012 and 2013. She was an All-Conference player during her two seasons.

The native of Belgrade, Serbia also was a member of the Cross Country, Track & Field, and Golf teams.

“All of us at GSC loved her and are so sad at her passing,” Glenville State President Dr. Peter Barr said. “She was always vibrant and an inspiration to all. We will miss her.”

Ludoski was a student assistant and worker in the athletic department.

“It was with sadness in my heart that we informed our Glenville State Pioneer family today about the loss of Dejana Ludowski,” GSC Athletic Director Marcal Lazenby said. “There are no words to adequately express our sympathy to Dejana’s family and friends. She will be missed.”

She will be honored at a candlelight memorial Tuesday night in the parking area of the Waco Center in Glenville.
