FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Seven people were killed in separate crashes in West Virginia Saturday through Monday morning.
The Monday morning deadly wreck happened on Pennsylvania Ave. in Fairmont and involved a motorcycle. The wreck occurred before 5 a.m. Fairmont police are investigating.
Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a Sunday ATV crash that killed a woman near the Tad community. Nicole Pullen, 25, of East Bank, was thrown off the ATV she was operating when it slammed into a tree.
A man identified as Glen Tucker died Saturday night in Kanawha County when the bicycle he was riding down a steep hill in the Elkview area hit the side of a car traveling on U.S. Route 119. Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies are investigating.
A single vehicle crash in Wayne County claimed a man’s life Saturday night. Eric Freeman, 48, of Kenova, lost control of the vehicle near on state Route 75 near Nana Lane at around 10 p.m. It crashed into a natural gas meter and took down a utility pole, state police said.
Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said speed was a factor.
Also in Wayne County Saturday, a collision between an ATV and SUV claimed a man’s life.
Christopher Scarberry, 34, of Huntington, was on the ATV that hit the SUV head-on on state Route 75. Scarberry was pronounced dead at the scene. State police are investigating.
Two people were killed in a Saturday afternoon crash on state Route 38 in Barbour County.
Emergency officials said the single vehicle wreck was on Mountaineer Road, near the Barbour County and Tucker County line.
Deputies with the Barbour County Sheriff’s Department were leading the investigation.
