Picks revealed: Will West Virginia finally beat the Wildcats?

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — We’re headed for a sold-out Saturday at Milan-Puskar Stadium, which says something about West Virginia’s 3-0 start and the fact Kansas State has become a destination game thanks to dominating the series.

Our MetroNews sports staff, a combined 18-0 on Mountaineers games this season, can’t stay perfect any longer. (That’s because all six are not in agreement this week.) Check out the Gold & Blue Lunch Report for the West Virginia final-score picks, but here’s a peek at the stone-cold locks:

Our locks are just 8-14-2 this season, the kind of record that would have justified firing Les Miles. But 114-34? Geez, Joe Alleva …

The panel members submit their guesses for The Hat’s successor in Baton Rouge, with Brad Howe naming an option who’s only three games into his tenure with an NFL team:

“Chip Kelly, tired of the issues in the NFL, jumps back into college with one of the best jobs in the best conference in college football. LSU needs a coach with a dynamic offense and some name recognition.”

Also, we take on Marshall-Pitt, Louisville-Clemson, Oklahoma-TCU and Wisconsin-Michigan.
