Former Ripley standout Chase Johnson commits to Florida

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Former Ripley basketball forward Chase Johnson has committed to Florida.

Johnson, 6-foot-8, 205 pounds, transferred this summer to play his senior season at Huntington Prep.

Johnson averaged 17 points and just under nine rebounds per game as a junior last year for Ripley. His college recruitment blew up this summer as he collected over 20 Divsion I scholarship offers, including West Virginia.

Some of his other offers included Arizona, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Marquette, Penn State, South Carolina, TCU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
