PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. — No charges had been filed as of Sunday morning in connection with a deadly stabbing from Friday night in Putnam County.

Deputies with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department identified the man killed as Shannon Jones, 39, of Burns Road in Scott Depot.

Investigators were called to the Marina Park area in Teays Valley around 11:20 p.m. Friday where they found a man dead of a stab wound to the chest.

The stabbing stemmed from an argument between the victim and another man inside the residence late Friday night, according to deputies.
