FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Class AA No. 1 Bridgeport improved to 10-0 on Friday night, edging rival No. 2 Fairmont Senior 17-14 to stay undefeated on the season.

The Indians’ J.T. Harris had 107 yards receiving, including an 81 yard touchdown reception in the win. The Indians held Fairmont Senior to 44 yards of total offense and three yards rushing in the second half.

“We’ve been working on passing all week and that’s something we knew we were going to do coming into the game,” Harris said. “We lost a lot of physical ability from last year, but we have been able to make up for it with mentality and chemistry. We realized that 10-0 is a big accomplishment, but now we have a new goal and that’s to get to Wheeling Island – I think we have the team to do it.”

The Indians, looking for a fourth straight AA state title, will have next week off before the playoffs begin. Fairmont Senior, meanwhile, drops to 6-2 with the loss and will close out the regular season against East Fairmont.
