MetroNews’ Tony Caridi releases W.Va. children’s book

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — For more than 30 years, MetroNews Sportsline Host Tony Caridi has served as a play-by-play announcer and now he’s releasing a children’s book.

The book, called “Where, Oh Where, Oh Where Could We Go?”, went on sale Friday.tony-book

Caridi said the book takes readers on a journey through West Virginians iconic destinations.

“This is a fast paced rhyming read which takes you to iconic locations throughout the state of West Virginia. The intent is to tell young kids about some of the great places that exist in their state,” Caridi said on MetroNews “Talkline.”

The book was written by Caridi and illustrated by Emily Huffman, of Bridgeport. It includes an outline of the state and an audio book for young readers.

“I had the idea about doing the audio book,” Caridi said. “The audio book has a lot of nice sound effects in there, so kids just starting to read, then they can listen to the book and follow along as well.”

Pre-orders can be placed at tonycaridi.com. The book sells for $15. A portion of the proceeds will go toward WVU Medicine Children’s.
