INSTITUTE, W.Va. — Traffic was tied up for several hours on Interstate 64 in Kanawha County Saturday afternoon after several vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes near the Institute exit.
The chain reaction accident involved a tractor-trailer hauling heavy equipment, a passenger car and a truck, authorities said.
Several people were taken to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment.
The eastbound lanes were closed for a period of time. The wreck happened at around 3:15 p.m.
