State police investigate deadly Preston Co. crash

NEWBURG, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly Preston County wreck.

The two-vehicle crash occurred on Route 92 around 12:40 p.m. Monday just south of the intersection with Scotch Hill Road.

A 2006 Dodge pick up, registered in Ohio, and a 2013 Ford box truck, owned by Import-Export Tire Company of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, met in a head-on collision.

The road was closed for nearly two hours as emergency workers had to extricate the drivers of both vehicles. One driver was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The identity of the victim who died is being withheld as police notify family members.

Senior Trooper A. R. Leach continues an investigation into the wreck.
