Accused murderer arrested in I-64 traffic stop

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — Putnam County sheriff’s deputies say an accused murderer did not resist arrest when they pulled him over near the Cross Lanes exit Friday afternoon.

They were looking for the car driven by Kevin Garcia, 23, after learning he may be heading east on I-64 following the death of a teenager in Lexington, Kentucky, Thanksgiving night.

Garcia was arraigned and is awaiting extradition. He’s being held in the Western Regional Jail.
