Highlights: Defensive stand, 99-yard drive send Spring Valley to Super Six

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Class AAA No. 2 Spring Valley edged No. 6 Capital 20-14 on Saturday afternoon, advancing to the school’s first football state championship game.

Tied at 14-14 late in the fourth quarter, the Timberwolves held Capital on fourth-and-inches inside the one yard line. Spring Valley offensively then went 99 yards for the game winning score, capped by a 49 yard touchdown run by Derek Johnson with just 36 seconds to go.

Spring Valley (12-1) will face No. 1 Martinsburg (13-0) on Saturday at noon.
