MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Behind 21 points from Tynice Martin and double-doubles by Teana Muldrow and Lanay Montgomery, No. 19 West Virginia dominated High Point 82-59 in women’s basketball Sunday.
Montgomery finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Mountaineers (7-0), who tightened up their defense after building a 28-22 first-quarter lead.
High Point (1-4) made just 13-of-44 shots over the final three periods.
Muldrow had 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Chania Ray contributed eight assists and for steals. West Virginia made only 5-of-17 from 3-point range but shot 50 percent overall and outscored the visitors 42-8 in the paint.
