Cabell collision claims life

LESAGE, W.Va. — State police say a garbage truck driver did all he could to get out of the way of a car that was coming across the center line on state Route 2 in Cabell County Friday afternoon but he couldn’t avoid the collision.

The crash claimed the life of car passenger Joshua Andrew Wilcoxen, 28, of Putnam County and injured car driver, Kristina Marie Gue, 27, of Cabell County troopers said.

Those in the garbage truck, which was traveling south on Route 2, were not injured. Gue is being treated at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.

The wreck occurred near near Lesage close to the Cabell-Mason county line. Route 2 was blocked for several hours.
