Five arrests have been made in a Fairmont murder

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A total of five people have now been arrested in a Fairmont murder investigation.

Police made the arrest of Michelle Kaye Belton, 37 of Elkins, on Tuesday.  She was charged with first-degree murder.

The same day, police charged Vanny Jermaine Clay, 26, with first-degree robbery.

The two are accused in a deadly home invasion on Watson Avenue Thursday, Nov. 17.

Malcolm Whitted, 27 of Detroit, Michigan, was shot to death in an apartment.

Police first arrested Devon Stephens, 25 of Fairmont, on Nov. 29 and charged him with first-degree murder in Whitted’s death.

Two days later, Timothy Lambert, 31, and his wife Cassie Lambert were arrested in a Fairmont hotel.  Timothy Lambert was charged with first-degree murder.  Cassie Lambert was charged with first-degree murder and obstructing an officer.
