Unemployment rate in W.Va. remains unchanged for November

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia’s latest unemployment rate is at 6 percent for the month of November, according to numbers released Tuesday by WorkForce West Virginia.

That’s the same it was in October. The number of unemployed state residents is around 47,900. Total unemployment was down 1,300 over the year.

The national unemployment rate declined to 4.6 percent.

Total nonfarm payroll employment increased 10,400 in November, with gains of 1,800 in
the goods-producing sector and 8,600 in the service-providing sector.
