Tomblin giving state workers half-day off Dec. 23

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin issued a proclamation Friday giving state workers a half-day off the Friday before Christmas, Dec. 23.

The move will give state workers a 3.5 day weekend with Monday, Dec. 26, already being a scheduled day off because Christmas falls on a Sunday this year.

The proclamation also says county commissions and courts can treat the afternoon as a legal holiday.
