ROMNEY, W.Va. — Most of West Virginia was spared icy conditions Saturday morning with temperatures above freezing.
There were reports of slippery driving conditions in parts of the northern panhandle and the eastern mountains into the eastern panhandle. There were some traffic accidents reported on Interstate 81.
A winter storm warning is in effect for Jefferson, Morgan and Berkeley counties until 1 p.m. Saturday.
Temperatures were forecasted to moderate to 50’s and 60’s for most areas by early afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, after a mild night Saturday temperatures will dive again creating some slippery driving conditions for a few hours Sunday.
