HS Sportsline: University wrestling looks for title contention

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — University wrestling coach Ken Maisel was a guest on the MetroNews High School Sportsline as the Hawks have put together a couple of impressive early season wrestling tournament wins.

University last year finished ninth in the state wrestling tournament and entered this year at No. 6 in the initial Coaches Association poll.

“The expectations for this year were and are very high,” Maisel said. “There are a couple of kids that we don’t have on the team for various reasons, but the expectations are still extremely high. If we’re not a top five finish, I think that would be a disappointment. Really, a top two finish is what we’re interested in.”

The complete interview with Maisel is posted above.
