Martinsburg’s Lee named second team All-USA defense

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Martinsburg junior defensive lineman Tavis Lee on Wednesday added some national accolades, being named to USA Today’s All-USA second team defense.

Lee, 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, was one of the state’s most dominant players throughout the 2016 season, helping lead the Bulldogs to a fifth Class AAA state championship in the last seven years.

Lee finished the year with 109 total tackles, 11 sacks and 24 tackles for loss. His 109 total tackles were 34 more than anyone else for Martinsburg overall on the year.

Led by Lee, Martinsburg defensively limited opponents in the postseason to just one combined touchdown, outscoring the opposition 203-7.
