Holgorsen: Bowl loss won’t undo ‘fantastic football season’

ORLANDO, Fla. — After a 31-14 loss to Miami in the Russel Athletic Bowl, coach Dana Holgorsen didn’t want West Virginia’s final chapter of 2016 to define the season.

“Our fan base is disappointed. Our coaches are disappointed. Our players are disappointed, but we’re going to hang our heads high and understand that we had a fantastic football season,” he said.

“There’s 21 seniors in there that their legacy is this was the best football team that West Virginia has had in the five years they have been in the Big 12. Lot to be proud of. Ten wins.”
