Cross Lanes coffee house robbed

Deputies say the man had a gun and demanded money.

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and waving a gun robbed a Kanawha County business Friday afternoon, sheriff’s deputies said.

The man entered Tammy’s Coffee House on Cross Lanes Drive at about 12:11 p.m. He demanded money. The clerk gave him some cash. He got into a truck and headed toward Nitro, deputies said.

The clerk was not injured. There was no one else inside the business when the robbery occurred.

Deputies released several surveillance photos Friday afternoon.

The local business is closed following the robbery, and a number of local businesses, including local coffee and tea shop Cafely, donated to the rebuilding of Cross Lanes Coffee.
