Fairmont murder suspect arrested in Delaware

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Deputy U.S. Marshals in Delaware arrested final suspect accused in a deadly home invasion in Fairmont.

John Deahl is one of multiple people accused in a home invasion style robbery and murder in Fairmont.

John Anthony Deahl was taken into custody without incident Tuesday, at approximately 2:40 p.m. in Smyrna, Delaware.

The 26-year-old is accused of first-degree murder in the Nov. 17, 2016 home invasion style robbery.

Deahl and five others were allegedly involved in the shooting of death of 27-year-old Malcom Whitted of Detroit, Michigan.

Investigators believe Deahl traveled to Delaware in December and has been hiding out at an associate’s apartment since that time.
