Rock slide closes Marion Co. road for several days

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A Marion County road will be closed several days following a rock slide.

US 250 in Marion Co between Holbert Rd and Mary Lou Retton Dr will be closed until Friday because of numerous rock slides.

According to Marion County Homeland Security and Emergency Management, U.S. Route 250 or White Hall Boulevard was impassable shortly after noon on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

The highway was closed between Woods Boat House and Muriale’s Restaurant just south of Mary Lou Retton Drive.

According to Marion County 911 dispatchers, the West Virginia Division of Highways authorized a lengthy closure between Woods Boat House and Mary Lou Retton Drive.

The closure is in place until Friday, Jan. 6.

Marion County Homeland Security and Emergency Management advises alternate routes include Interstate 79 and U. S. Route 19.

The slippage was continuing throughout Tuesday afternoon.
