One dead in Harrison County fire

SALTWELL, W.Va. — The State Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate a fatal fire in Harrison County that began late Tuesday night.

Fire departments from Shinnston, Bridgeport, Spelter, Lumberport, and Worthington responded to a mobile home fire in the Saltwell area near Shinnston late Tuesday night on Smith Run Road.

The fire destroyed a mobile home and killed one man home at the time. The victim is believed to be in his 60’s.

Firefighters called in the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

There is no information yet on what started the fire.
