FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. — A Fayette County man who allegedly set fire to a house this weekend in Glen Jean remained behind bars Sunday at the Southern Regional Jail.
John Ross, 35, of Glen Jean, was charged Saturday with first-degree arson and nighttime burglary — both felonies, according to deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
His arrest came after the house fire was reported early Saturday morning on Glen Jean’s McKell Avenue.
The firefighters responding to the scene around 3 a.m. came from the Mount Hope Volunteer Fire Department and the Oak Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
A neighbor reported seeing someone run away from the home before the fire.
