WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — West Virginia native and country music superstar Brad Paisley gave $200,000 to the Greenbrier County-based Neighbors Loving Neighbors group to help with flood recovery efforts.
The check presentation was made Friday night by Greenbrier Resort President Jill Justice during an event at the White Sulphur Springs Civic Center.
Paisley released the following statement in connection with the donation:
“I love West Virginia and was devastated by some of the horrific pictures I saw of the disaster in Greenbrier County and throughout West Virginia. I’ve been committed to doing anything I can to help, and when it came to distributing money, I wanted to find a place where all of the money went directly to those who were impacted by the floods. So Neighbors Loving Neighbors was a perfect fit, and I’m proud to be associated with their ongoing efforts.”
Also at Friday’s event, Habibi Mamone, president of Neighbors Loving Neighbors, made check presentations of $500,000 each to Appalachia Service Project and Mennonite Disaster Services to help the organizations continue to construct and rebuild up to 350 houses in Greenbrier and surrounding counties for victims of last June’s flood.
“These organizations have been wonderful, and we want to continue to do anything we can to support their efforts,” Mamone said in a news release. “There is still work to be done, and we are going to continue to work together to make sure it happens.
