Monongalia Co. drivers will experience delays on Grafton Road

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The repairs made to a slip along U.S. 119 in Monongalia County are not holding up.

The northbound lane of Rt. 119 (Grafton Road) is closed approximately .25 miles south of where it intersects with Goshen Road (CR 77).

The West Virginia Division of Highways announced the closure Tuesday, Jan. 24.

Temporary traffic signals will alternate traffic using the southbound lane.

A contractor, hired by the DOH, will begin work Monday, Jan. 30 to repair the slip.

The road was closed in August 2016 for crews to work on what was estimated as a 2 foot slip causing the road to crack and cave in.
