According to State Police, the charges came out of a “lengthy investigation” into alleged inappropriate relationships between Harris and juvenile victims, who were students, during a span of time from 1985 to 2008.

During that time, Harris worked as a teacher and coach at Bartley Elementary School and Mount View Middle School.

The charges against Harris included multiple counts of 1st degree sexual abuse, 2nd degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian.

The victims were between the ages of 12 and 15, troopers said.

The investigation remained open Wednesday and State Police troopers were asking anyone with potentially helpful information to contact the Welch State Police Detachment at 304-436-2101.
