Charleston restaurant comes down with quick rebuild promised

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — It only took of matter of hours to demolish the Wendy’s restaurant at the corner of Clendenin and Virginia streets in Charleston Wednesday.

Wendy’s plans to build a new 2,500 square foot restaurant at the site that is just a block from the Charleston Civic Center.

That particular Wendy’s was built in the mid-1970’s and was one of the first 1,000 the company built in the U.S.

New upscale Wendy’s have fireplaces, flat screen TV’s, digital menuboards and a variety of seating options.
