Princeton man found guilty in death of ex-wife

PRINCETON, W.Va. – A jury found a Mercer County man guilty Wednesday of killing his former lover on her wedding day.

William Seal, 34, of Princeton, was on trial for the June 2015 death of Ashley Seal, 26, of Princeton. The two were previously married.

Ashley Seal was visiting her ex-husband’s apartment on Highland Avenue to “pick up a few things” following the marriage of her new husband, Douglass Martin, at the Mercer County Courthouse. Martin lived at the same duplex as William Seal.

Police said William Seal stabbed Ashley Seal to death, and Martin was the individual who called 911.

Seal faces 10 to 40 years in prison.

A pre-sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 3.
